Hey lovely readers!
Here’s a book review for you.
“Vanessa Mazur knows she’s doing the right thing. She shouldn’t feel bad for quitting. Being an assistant/housekeeper/fairy godmother to the top defensive end in the National Football Organization was always supposed to be temporary. She has plans and none of them include washing extra-large underwear longer than necessary.
But when Aiden Graves shows up at her door wanting her to come back, she’s beyond shocked.
For two years, the man known as The Wall of Winnipeg couldn’t find it in him to tell her good morning or congratulate her on her birthday. Now? He’s asking for the unthinkable.
What do you say to the man who is used to getting everything he wants?”
Alright so I’ve been wanting to read a Mariana Zapata for awhile and I finally took the plunge with this one. I loved it so so much. I don’t need to tell you guys that I love romance books. I’ve read more than I can count. So I really love when one feels special and unique. This one totally does.
I thought it would be your typical plot, but the thing is, Aiden and Vanessa spent about 75% of the book building a relationship. It was subtle, quiet, and pretty freaking adorable. I also loved how both Aiden and Vanessa had troubled pasts, but they weren’t focused on too much. It was like yes, bad things happened, but that’s not all we are. I appreciated the mix of fantasy and reality that the story offered. What Aiden offers Vnaessa is pretty damn surreal, but the reason why she accepts, completely understandable. At least for me.
This was one of those books where the whole time I’m reading it I’m just like yes, so much yes. It was so funny and I found the characters easy to relate to which I always love. Plus there was no huge dramatic moment where one character screws up and has to fix things. Aiden and Vanessa made mistakes throughout the book, but they always managed to talk things through. Realistic much? Ummm yes! And what shocked me most? No sex scenes until almost the end of the book and they totally fit. I just loved this book so hard and totally recommend it whether you read romance or not!
Thanks for reading guys! Talk to you soon! ❤ Adrianna
