Hey lovely readers!
Here’s a discussion post for your reading pleasure.
I don’t know about you guys, but I pretty much hate getting rid of books even though I know I’ll never read them. Like it gives me a bit of anxiety, like I wasted money, or I’m somehow failing because I haven’t read certain books. But the other day I was staring at my very full TBR bookshelf and I was just exhausted. The list made me feel exhausted and that was not alright with me. So here’s what I did.
I took every last unread book off of my shelves, there were a lot haha. I put them in a big pile, picked each one up individually, and stared at it. I mean stared for a good while. And if the book didn’t catch my interest it went in the donate pile. There were of course some that this didn’t work for and in that case I went with a different approach. If the book had been on my TBR for a year or longer, there were quite a few, I put it on the donate pile. Let’s be honest here, if I have a book on my shelf for a year or longer the chances of me reading it are pretty darn slim.
Usually I look at my TBR books and I talk myself into keeping the ones I know I have no interest in reading. These are usually the ones that people recommended to me or ones that everyone and their mother has read. So of course I feel like I need to read them. But the truth? I don’t, you don’t, no one does. That’s what I reminded myself as I was going through my giant pile. And plus I get to donate all of those un-read books to someone who will actually read them. I got rid of 25 books and I’m pretty proud of that!
Thanks for reading guys! Talk to you soon! ❤ Adrianna
I just sat down and did this to my TBR too! It gets so overwhelming staring at a million unread books. I ended up with about 20 books I’m letting go of. Feels really good!

Wow! Good job! I don’t think I can bring myself to get rid of any… but I probably should sit down and do it soon!
