Hey lovely readers!

Today’s post is a book review of Bad Intentions by Charleigh Rose

Moving to River’s Edge was supposed to be a fresh start.
Away from chaos. Away from bad influences and worse relationships.
All I wanted was to give my little brother more of a chance than I ever had.
It should’ve been simple. I didn’t count on my transgressions following me.
And I definitely didn’t count on meeting Dare. Tall, tortured, and tattooed.
A Lost Boy through and through. Falling for someone like him was asking for heartache. But I was a sucker for punishment.

Dare
I had a routine. Eat, work, sleep, repeat, only ever doing the bare minimum to keep up appearances. I kept my circle small and my guard high. I spent years making sure I didn’t repeat the mistakes of my past, forming an impenetrable layer of ice around my heart. Then Logan showed up in my town, in my tattoo shop, testing my patience along with my self-control. She was fire and I was ice. I should’ve stayed away. But I had been cold for far too long.”

Oh you guys I’m so in love with this book it’s not even funny! I have heard such good things about Charleigh Rose from friends, but I had yet to take the plunge. And well I finally did and now I’m obsessed. This book is actually book 2 in the Bad Love series, and I haven’t read book 1. But I was able to follow the story just fine!

So let me tell you why I loved this book so much. First of all, a book about a tattoo artist? Yes please! Point me in the direction of more books with tattoo artists please. But seriously I just absolutely loved Lo and Dare.Their relationship was just so beautiful and unexpected. Like Jack & Sally, which totally makes sense because they’re referenced a lot in the book. (If you don’t know who Jack & Sally are, we cannot be friends!) I really felt for Lo in this book. She had such a rough childhood, an absentee parents, little to no money most of the time.  I could totally identify with that. I admired her so much for making sure her brother was always cared for. And I loved watching her learn to trust Dare.

And Dare? Well he surprised me in the best way. I thought here’s another book asshole, but nope! He understood Lo in a way that made me swoon. And their relationship just made my heart so happy. I really enjoyed all of the characters in this book and the cute little town they lived in. One of my favorite things was the relationship between Lo and her brother Jesse. Sibling relationships in books are one of my favorite plot points, because my sisters are my best friends and I want all siblings real and fictional to have that.

But I have to say my favorite part of this whole book was that when shit hit the fan, Lo did not jump to conclusions about Dare. Honestly that freaking floored me. In pretty much ever single romance book either the guy or the girl finds out something bad about the other and they assume it’s true. They don’t talk, they don’t give the benefit of the doubt, they run. And then the “guilty” party has to go and apologize and usually things are blown out of proportion. But not this book. Lo knows that what she hears about Dare isn’t the real story and she stays to talk it out. Hallelujah. About freaking time. Thank you Charleigh Rose for making this relationship so honest and realistic ❤ This book is 100% a new favorite of mine and I think you should all go read it now 🙂

Thanks for reading guys! Talk to you soon! ❤ Adrianna
