Recommendation Wednesday – Teen Dramas – TV

Hey lovely readers!

Here are this week’s recommendations. You asked for teen dramas, so here are 5 of my favorite teen dramas on TV. And just to clarify, by teen drama I mean a TV show geared towards teenagers or young adults. Also all but one of these are off the air, but are available on streaming services 🙂 Okay let’s get started!

Wildfire 2005-2008

“Kris Furillo (Genevieve Cortese) gets her first chance at responsibility with a job on the Ritter family ranch, where she befriends a horse named Wildfire. She is soon swept up in a complicated world of ruthless competition, dark secrets and love. Wildfire remains her one true friend, and their ability to achieve the impossible together creates the hope and strength to face a challenging future.”

This show was my obsession when I was like 14! It aired in the early 2000’s so it can be a bit cheesy at times. But I just re watched all 4 seasons and I remember why I loved it. It has everything I love about these drama series. A love triangle, drama, and fun. Plus I really love that it focuses on horses and racing. That’s not something I’m familiar with so it’s really fun to watch. The first 3 seasons are available on Amazon Prime and you can buy the 4th season separately on Amazon as well. Team Junior by the way 😉 You’ll get it if you watch the show :p

Friday Night Lights 2006-2011

“In the town of Dillon, Texas, football is life and pressure mounts as the Dillon Panthers, enter pre-season surrounded by a swirl of press, recruiters, and State Championship sized expectations.”

This show actually made me like football! Maybe it’s because I have family in Texas and the show reminds me of summers spent there 🙂 But I think the show itself is done so well and it really gives you a good look at Texas high school football culture. The story lines are really relate-able and they deal with a lot of important issues. It has hot guys, drama, love triangles, everything you could want plus fun accents 😉 All 5 seasons are available on Amazon Prime.

One Tree Hill 2003-2012

In a small North Carolina town, two estranged half brothers carry on very different lives. Basketball prodigy Nathan Scott has inherited the throne of high school popularity once held by his father, Dan, while Lucas Scott, also a talented player, stays an outsider. Spending nights shooting hoops on a riverfront court, Lucas remains the son Dan never acknowledged. Now, Lucas’ and Nathan’s paths intersect for the first time.”

Sooo yeah love this show. It’s probably one of my favorites ever. I can’t even tell you how much I love it and why. But I will attempt an explanation. It’s one of those shows that changes you, touches your soul, and makes you think about life in a different way. The writers of the show are genius. I can’t tell you how many quotes from the show I have memorized, how many times I’ve watched my favorite episodes. The show deals with death, broken families, teen pregnancy, alcoholism, the ramifications of school shootings, young marriage cheating, hard work, love, heartbreak. Literally everything. All the couples are amazing but #leyton forever ❤ I swear I learn a life lesson from every episode and where I find all my favorite songs! It’s just an amazing show. All 9 seasons are available on Hulu.

Riverdale 2017-Present

“While navigating the troubled waters of sex, romance, school and family, teen Archie and his gang become entangled in a dark Riverdale mystery.”

This show is such a fun mystery drama. A bit ridiculous, but in a really good way! I really loved the Archie comics and the cartoon TV series growing up, so I was skeptical about this show at first. But it’s so addicting and creepy and drama filed and fun! I love the characters, I love the story lines, it’s just so good! The season 2 finale just aired and both seasons are now available on Netflix. I dare you not to get sucked in 😉

The Vampire Diaries 2009-2017

“In a Virginia town hiding secrets, two vampire brothers — good Stefan and the evil Damon — compete for the love of 17-year-old Elena Gilbert.”

If you haven’t heard of this show I have one question: Have you been living under a rock? I mean seriously you don’t know what you’re missing. So jump on the vampire band wagon and enjoy! Hot boys, sad lonely girls, high school. cheer leading, drama, mystery, love triangles, the ultimate bad boy, vampires, werewolves, witches, just OMG good! The music on this show is amazing, seriously all CW shows have great music, but this one. So many amazing music moments. And the romance is just swoon worthy. Just for the record Damon is my everything, team #Delena for life. Do not come at me! 😉 Probably my favorite show of all time and you know #Delena is the ultimate OTP ❤ All 8 seasons are available on Netflix

Honorable mention to Greek. Cappie and Casey forever ❤ This one isn’t available  to stream anywhere but you can buy it on Amazon!

There you go! 5 of my favorite teen dramas on TV. I hope you find your new favorite show here 🙂

Thanks for reading guys! Talk to you soon! ❤ Adrianna

My name is Adrianna. I'm a 25 year old wife, book lover, and librarian in training. I have a deep love for books and an unhealthy obsession with iced tea! I can quote almost any Disney movie, Belle is my favorite Disney princess, and I live for Harry Potter! I enjoy reading YA and New Adult Romance above anything else. I have 5 cats and 1 dog who are basically my world (along with hubby of course)! And when I'm not reading I enjoy writing, puzzling, trivia, and long walks with the hubs and dog! Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy!

  1. I love! Friday Night Lights and OTH. They were so good when they were on. I’ve been meaning to rewatch OTH on Netflix. I’ve also been wanting to watch Riverdale. Good recommendations!
